Where Cimabue Met Giotto

The bridge near Vicchio in Tuscany, where Cimabue discovered the young Giotto drawing in the fields. Also, jars of pigment in the reconstructed house of the artist near the bridge.

TJ Clark on Poussin

Clark's book on Poussin, 'The Sight of Death' published in 2006, is a beautiful and poetic work- simply and deeply about what painters like doing best- simply looking. One of the works considered is Landscape with a Calm, of 1650/51:
